Took our 1973 T2 into them running like a bag of nails and got it back running like a sewing machine. And the bill was very sensible too!

I called up Monnington Motors out of the blue and asked them to check out a car I was hoping to buy. I dealt with Adrian who couldn’t have been more helpful. If I could give 10 stars I would. He arranged the whole thing super promptly, gave comprehensive account of his investigation and then was extremely on top of following up. He also charged a reasonable fee for his time. Strongly recommended.

Phoned them on a Monday morning, they had my VW Passat on the diagnostic machine the same afternoon. They diagnosed a faulty EGR valve and had it fixed within 48 hours.

My wife and I have been using Monnington Motors regularly since the Audi garage in Newton Abbot closed down. To be honest if I had known about them before I would have used them instead of the main dealers.

I have an Audi 3.2 V6 Sport Quattro which I have taken very good care of for years. I have often thought of changing however nothing comes close for performance and comfort at the price. Up until recently it has performed exceptionally well, however I started to have a vibration coming through the car about 12 months ago, and we could not track it down. At a recent MOT the garage said that even though it passed the MOT it needed sorting. Initial inspections drew a blank so Adrian at Monnington suggested we tackled it in stages if only to rule out certain possibilities. The blogs and car forums did not have the answer so we were really looking for clues, and it could have become expensive. Very soon after taking the front assembly apart, the mechanics thought they had the answer. They did. They changed both CV joints to both front driveshafts, put it all back together, fitted a new set of tyres (Conti Sport 5). Perfect. It now handles like a new car! Thank you Adrian and your team of mechanics. You kept me informed from beginning to end and nothing was left to chance. The result is amazing.

They tried to do the job as quickly as physically possible, and I was also offered a courtesy car. Once the part arrived, I was called the same day to say it was ready. They are knowledgable, friendly, professional, reasonable and amiable, hence the 5 stars! It was also great to find a garage that specialise in BMW, Mercedes, Audi (to name a few). You know when everything goes right? And you know you’re in safe hands? Well, Monnington’s is that. Andy & Adrian were the best. Calm, confident & knowledgeable. My golf mk4 had 2 static faults that I couldn’t fix. Bish bash bosh they knew the problem & fixed it. Cost? Extremely reasonable! We’re all warry of being ripped of by a garage. Steve was very helpful on the day, the work was done for a very reasonable price and my car washed. Being a lady on my own I often worry about ‘being taken for a ride’ but I needn’t have worried, the staff are genuine and honest. I would have no problem recommending this garage to anyone.

Used Monnington as was on holiday in Teignmouth and the van was playing up. Monnington was extremely helpful and efficient and repaired the van to get it road worthy to get us home to Buckinghamshire.

I have used these guys many times over the years and have always been very impressed. They are still my go-to Audi Independent despite the fact that I now live about 100 miles away. Most recently they did my timing belt, and fixed a couple of other issues that they found while they were in there. As always, Adrian was a pleasure to deal with and updated me whenever needed. In the past they found and fixed a front-end clunk on my Audi 80 that had defeated me (20 years DIY spannering), my nearest Independent (who is very good), and the local Audi Dealership before they got their hands on it. If only I’d gone there first… Good mechanics, fair pricing and a pleasure to deal with. Use them.

Fab service brilliant staff, my car went in for major service and mot lots of clutch issues (which I knew before it went in) but Adrian was fab explained all work needed doing and why even showed me the parts lent me the use of the hire car while the car was in for 3 days constant contact from the guys at the grange to let me know what was going on highly recommended.

Brilliant! My son was stranded 300 miles from home and these guys were great! Gave me the name of a brilliant recovery chap, Graham, who was reasonable price and very helpful. the garage got the car in and out in 24hrs. Highly recommend. A+++++

I took a van that I was thinking about buying to Monington motors to have them check it over first. Adrian did not hang around getting me in fast and was so genuine in his deportment. Mark was also very kind, and had very good attention to detail and their experience in motors really shows. This is not your typical garage; it is very professional, very clean and COVID rules are taken seriously.

Outstanding Service – I broke down yesterday on my way to Family Funeral – phoned Monnington excellent advice given and made to the funeral. This morning I dropped my car off before opening time to a really friendly Adrian. Who phoned me throughout the day with information and had a new injection valve fitted by 3:30. Monnington Motors were fantastic! We were on holiday in Devon and had driven from Denmark in our car when the battery died and the handle to the bonnet broke. Monnington Motors were extremely friendly and service minded. They fitted us in despite their busy schedule. They ordered the needed spare parts and changed the battery within 1,5 day and did an additional oil check and filled up with washer fluid and all for a very reasonable price. All in all great service.

It is a bit tucked away and not on a bus route. But this is the only negative comment I can make and i have since discovered that they are very generous with courtesy cars. I have a 20 year old BMW which is my pride and joy. My wife has booked a place in the Valley of the Kings for me and the car to be buried. Not in the near future of course. It has done 205K miles, with the normal replacements but absolutely nothing major. Fantastic car (530D) The “fan” belt broke and it was towed to Monington Motors. We stay in Newton Abbot frequently but have not needed a garage. I am very fussy who works on this car and I can honestly say that I was very impressed with the garage team and the quality and speed of the work that was carried out. I would consider scheduling trips to Newton Abbot to coincide with servicing intervals. Very confident in their work. Like I have said I am very fussy who works on this car and I was absolutely confident. Thank you Adrian and team. Lawrence

Took my newly purchased Lexus GS300 to the dealership to have some issues diagnosed. They quoted £1,400 to have brake and suspension issues fixed. One phonecall to Monnington Motors and they booked me in within 24 hours. £244 later and all issues fixed (and tested by myself) with a courteous and polite service I can safely say this is the best independent garage I have visited. Outstanding, cheap, exceptional service despite having over 40 cars in on the day, they got my car back to me within 24 hours. Highly recommended.

Amazing work from Monnington Motors. They managed to fit me at very short notice and did a great job installing the Dashcam in my Audi. Adrian was always giving me updates about how the work was progressing and even found a way for me to could collect my car after hours. Definitely recommend!
